Housing

During your stay in Mexico, you can learn from native people through a genuine local experience which allows you to discover a new culture in a safe, comfortable and enjoyable environment. In some cities there is an option of living in an apartment /studio or living with a host family.

Family stay: The host family welcomes the volunteer English teachers and works hard to make them feel at home. Teachers will have a same sex roommate and in some homes will share the same bathroom. All of the homes have telephones for use with a calling card. Some homes provide internet access with free incoming calls. The homes are clean, comfortable and are close to grocery stores, convenience stores and Wi-Fi hotspots. In some cases if you need to catch the bus to go to the school where you will be teaching, it will not take more than 25 minutes. For a small fee, you will have the opportunity to taste real, homemade Mexican food prepared by the host family.

Apartment. Your apartment will usually be no more than 15 minutes walking distance from the school where you will be teaching. In some cases, if you need to catch the bus, it will not take more than 25 minutes. You will probably have a same sex roommate; bathrooms are also shared. Rent, gas, water and electricity bills are paid by the school. The apartments are clean, comfortable and close to a laundromat, grocery store, Wi-Fi hotspots, and public phone booths. You will be responsible for preparing your own meals or for a small fee, you can have the opportunity of tasting real, homemade Mexican food prepared by local people.
